Volleyball Recap: Bountiful's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bountiful had won two straight games and McKinely Duryea did her part to make it three on Friday. The Redhawks walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Olympus Titans with plenty of help from Duryea, who had 15 digs and eight assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Bountiful had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-23.

Bountiful's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maddie Johnson, who had ten digs and one assist. Those ten digs gave Johnson a new career-high.

Olympus' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kimari Matsuura, who had 24 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Senia Benson, who had nine digs and four aces.

Bountiful's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Olympus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Bountiful wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Brighton on the 14th. As for Olympus, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Viewmont on the 21st.
