Softball Recap: Olympia Comes Up Short

Olympia lost against Apopka back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Olympia came up short against Apopka, falling 16-3.

Olympia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nellie Robinson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Olympia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Olympia has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. The victory was the fifth in a row for Apopka, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Olympia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-6 loss against Windermere Prep on the 24th. As for Apopka, they have also already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against Lake Brantley on the 25th.
