Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Academy Crusaders vs. Crawford Colts

The St. Joseph Academy Crusaders will venture away from home to take on the Crawford Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for St. Joseph Academy and six for Crawford.

On Friday, St. Joseph Academy came up short against Borrego Springs and fell 10-6.

Meanwhile, Crawford also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Sweetwater by a score of 7-3. That's two games in a row now that the Colts have lost by exactly four runs.

Crawford got a good showing from Alejandro Guzman, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Guzman a new career-low.

At the plate, Hector Fuentes was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abraham Carillo-Ceron, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Crawford now has a losing record of 6-7. As for St. Joseph Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
