Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Kent Denver

Kent Denver's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Roaring Fork Rams by a score of 8-5. The Sun Devils haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Joseph Covell and Sam Eichorn were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Covell struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Eichorn tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Covell has posted since back in April of 2024. At bat, Covell scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Eichorn scored a run while going 1-for-3. That hit was Eichorn's first of the season.

In other batting news, Will Goldmanis and Zain Arafin did most of the damage at the plate: Goldmanis went 1-for-4 with one home run and three runs, while Arafin scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. That home run marked the first that Goldmanis launched this season. Vedder Yates was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Kent Denver's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Roaring Fork, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Kent Denver will challenge DSST: Montview at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Roaring Fork, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Colorado Academy on the 15th.
