The MaxPreps California Bowl Rankings have two new No. 1 teams as St. John Bosco (Bellflower) and Los Gatos moved up to the top spot in their respective divisions.

St. John Bosco surpassed Mater Dei (Santa Ana), which was idle, to take over the top spot in the Division I rankings in Southern California. The defending Open Division state champions defeated Central Catholic (Portland, Ore.) 42-14 last week.

Los Gatos, meanwhile, downed Menlo-Atherton 35-7 to run its record to 2-0. The Wildcats also took advantage of a 44-22 loss by former No. 1 Enterprise (Redding) to take over the top spot in the Northern California Division II rankings. Since Los Gatos plays in the Central Coast Section, it's possible that it would participate in the CCS Open Division playoffs, and thus be eligible for the NorCal Division I bowl.

The California Bowl Rankings are based on the MaxPreps Computer Rankings.
