Baseball Game Preview: Fort Lupton Bluedevils vs. Arrupe Jesuit Generals

Fort Lupton is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Arrupe Jesuit a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Fort Lupton Bluedevils will welcome the Arrupe Jesuit Generals at 4:00 p.m. Fort Lupton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Fort Lupton came up short against Estes Park and fell 8-3.

Javier Ortiz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Julian Arreguin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Arrupe Jesuit's offense. They came up short against SkyView Academy on Tuesday, falling 14-0.

Fort Lupton's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Arrupe Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Lupton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Arrupe Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Fort Lupton couldn't quite get it done against Arrupe Jesuit in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 12-8. Can the Bluedevils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
