Basketball Game Preview: Perry Maroons vs. Pawnee Black Bears

The Perry Maroons will head out to face off against the Pawnee Black Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pawnee took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Perry, who comes in off a win.

Perry will head into Saturday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 22) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cherokee 43-41.

Meanwhile, Pawnee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-51 heartbreaker at the hands of Yale. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Black Bears have suffered since December 9, 2023.

Pawnee's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Perry, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Perry didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Pawnee when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 63-59 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Perry since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
