Softball Recap: Fairmont Takes a Loss

Fairmont lost against Jackson County Central back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cardinals fell 4-1 to the Huskies. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gwyn Schultz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Fairmont's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Jackson County Central, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fairmont will square off against rival Redwood Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jackson County Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Luverne at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
