Volleyball Recap: White River Valley Wolverines vs. West Vigo Vikings

White River Valley was the 3-2 winner over West Vigo when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, White River Valley sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 16-25, 25-17, 23-25, 27-25.

Hailey Grover paced White River Valley's offense, picking up 20 kills. Grover got some help from Evelyn Abrams and her 45 assists. Maddie Edmondson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Leading West Vigo to victory were Sydney Macke and Reagan Taylor. Macke had 42 digs, while Taylor had 33 digs. Macke has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 11 times she's played. Jaycee Elkins also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

White River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for West Vigo, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

White River Valley has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Bloomfield on the 16th. As for West Vigo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against North Vermillion on the 16th.
