Basketball Recap: Carley Allen and Faith Beardmore Secure Win for Sand Creek

Sand Creek's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the Manchester Flying Dutchmen 25-23. This was payback for the Aggies, who suffered a 44-38 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sand Creek was led to victory by Faith Beardmore and Carley Allen. Beardmore went 6-for-14 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds, while Allen posted five points and 15 boards. Sand Creek is 2-1 when Allen posts ten or more rebounds, but 0-12 otherwise. Makayla Six also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steals of the season.

Sand Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Sand Creek's victory bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Manchester, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Sand Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-21 loss against Morenci on the 7th. As for Manchester, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-18 win against Vandercook Lake on the 5th.
