Soccer Recap: Islands Takes a Loss

Islands lost against Savannah Country Day back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sharks lost 10-0 to the Hornets. While losing is never fun, Islands can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Savannah Country Day are ranked 30th).

This is the second loss in a row for Islands and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Savannah Country Day, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Islands will challenge Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 11th. Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy's last six matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Savannah Country Day, they will face off against Richmond Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
