Basketball Recap: Vivian Galvis Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win

King's Christian lost to Calvary Academy back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The King's Christian Knights put the hurt on the Calvary Academy Warrior with a sharp 44-23 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Knights have posted against the Warrior since January 19, 2023.

King's Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vivian Galvis, who went 7-for-17 on her way to 14 points and five steals. Galvis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lillian Logan was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

King's Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7.8 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 14.6.

Zoe Troy and Made Leppard certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Troy posted nine points and eight boards, while Leppard had six points and three steals. Those nine points gave Troy a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for King's Christian and bumps their season record up to 9-14. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.5 points over those games. As for Calvary Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Looking ahead, King's Christian will face off against St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Calvary Academy, they will head out to take on King's Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 25th.
