Softball Recap: Altha Wildcats vs. St. John Paul II Panthers
Altha had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-17 to make it 12. They lost 16-1 to the St. John Paul II Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 7-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
As for St. John Paul II, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
For St. John Paul II's part, REESE HUTTO and TORRI BROWN did most of the damage at the plate: HUTTO went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while BROWN went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave BROWN a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of SANAA ROBERTS, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
