Softball Game Preview: Spanaway Lake Sentinels vs. Olympic Trojans

The Spanaway Lake Sentinels will challenge the Olympic Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Spanaway Lake has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 11 straight defeats, while Olympic will come in with five straight victories.

Spanaway Lake fell victim to Puyallup and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 20-0.

Meanwhile, Olympic never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on North Mason with a sharp 14-0 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Brenda Morrison made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Kennedy Haas was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evee Abbay, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

Spanaway Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Olympic, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
