Softball Game Preview: Chippewa Chipps vs. Dalton Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Chippewa will face off against Dalton. The Chipps will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m.

Chippewa is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Dalton on Wednesday. They fell 6-2 to the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Chipps in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

For Dalton's part, the team relied heavily on Hannah Wenger, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kenna Doty, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The win (which was Dalton's fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Chippewa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
