Basketball Recap: Person Comes Up Short

Person lost against Orange back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Person Rockets lost 61-39 to the Orange Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Panthers are ranked 191st).

Evelyn George was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 12 en route to 22 points and three steals for Orange. George has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maura Mcmurtry, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 15 points.

Person's loss dropped their record down to 9-11-1. As for Orange, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.

Person has already played their next contest (against Eastern Alamance), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Orange will challenge Southern Alamance at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Orange is facing Southern Alamance at the right time seeing as Southern Alamance is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
