Soccer Recap: Freedom's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Freedom came into Tuesday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their defense stepped up to hand the South Caldwell Spartans a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. Freedom's winning goal came courtesy of Drew Rogers.

Freedom's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 6-11-1. As for South Caldwell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8-1 record this season.

Freedom will head out on the road to face off against Ashe County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Freedom are facing Ashe County at the right time seeing as Ashe County are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Caldwell, they will challenge Alexander Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alexander Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something South Caldwell surely won't give up without a fight.
