The John Ehret Patriots will venture away from home to challenge the Maurepas Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Saturday, John Ehret got the win against Salmen by a conclusive 18-1. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Simon Pena, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of John Ehret's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Rakin Rabb, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Bogalusa typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Maurepas proved too difficult a challenge. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lumberjacks a 6-0 shutout.
Kade Penalber made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Maurepas let Alex Aime and Cameron Dupepe run wild. Aime went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Dupepe got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Maurepas' record is now 7-3. As for John Ehret, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. John Ehret has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. However, it's not like Maurepas struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
John Ehret came up short against Maurepas in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, falling 7-4. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
