Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon lost against Evansville North back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Huskies. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-17, 25-16.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Vernon lost, don't look at Hannah McNeece. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs and two assists. McNeece is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Evansville North, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-1.

Looking ahead, Mt. Vernon will square off against Heritage Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Evansville North, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Danville on the 11th.
