Basketball Game Preview: Copperas Cove Bulldawgs vs. Shoemaker Wolves

Copperas Cove is 2-8 against Shoemaker since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs will head out to face off against the Shoemaker Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Copperas Cove will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Copperas Cove beats Shoemaker with 68 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Copperas Cove blew past Killeen 68-47 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bulldawgs have posted since December 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Shoemaker was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 57-51 to Temple. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wolves came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 530th).

Copperas Cove has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Shoemaker, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-13.

Copperas Cove came up short against Shoemaker in their previous meeting back in January, falling 80-72. Can Copperas Cove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
