The Valley Center Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Winfield Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Center will be strutting in after a win while Winfield will be coming in after a loss.

Valley Center had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 25-point drubbing they dealt Newton on Tuesday. The Hornets blew past the Railroaders 51-26. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Railroaders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Valley Center's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Chavez, who posted 13 points along with six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ray J Logan, who scored 12 points and three steals.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Winfield and Andale, and Andale kept the tradition alive. The Vikings took a 55-40 bruising from the Indians on Tuesday. The loss put an end to the Vikings' undefeated start to the season.
