Football Recap: Hertford County Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Hertford County's offense. They had to suffer through a 52-0 loss at the hands of the Armstrong (Kennedy) Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Shadarus Pickett had a dynamite game For Armstrong (Kennedy)., rushing for 175 yards and four scores on only nine carries. Pickett really tore up the turf during one magnificent 86-yard run. Another player making a difference was Anthony Hansom, who threw for 129 yards and three TDs.

Hertford County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Armstrong (Kennedy), the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Hertford County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 34-0 win against Roanoke Rapids on the 19th. As for Armstrong (Kennedy), they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 35-7 victory against Goochland on the 19th.
