Football Game Preview: Bertie Falcons vs. Holmes Aces

Bertie hasn't had much luck against Holmes recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Aces at 7:00 p.m. Bertie has given up an average of 38 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bertie is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 35-22 to Camden County on Friday.

Meanwhile, Holmes waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Red Barons 49-30.

One reason for the win was Holmes' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Amari Bond. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Bertie, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Bertie came up short against Holmes when the teams last played back in August of 2024, falling 22-16. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
