Softball Game Preview: Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders vs. Wardlaw Academy Patriots

The Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders will head out to take on the Wardlaw Academy Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Davis Academy has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

On Monday, Jefferson Davis Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Williston-Elko and fell 11-10. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Taylor Hill (JR) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-6. Bailey Sturkie ( JR) also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Even though they lost, Wardlaw Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .442. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Wardlaw Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jefferson Davis Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wardlaw Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
