Hardin dropped down to 12-5 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Anahuac Panthers by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hornets have suffered since April 17, 2025.

Hardin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Buffington, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Anahuac, they now have a winning record of 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Hardin since April 11, 2023.

On Anahuac's side, Lane Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. Hall is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-9 when he doesn't).
