Softball Game Preview: Glastonbury Guardians vs. Windsor Warriors

The Glastonbury Guardians will venture away from home to take on the Windsor Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Windsor took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Glastonbury, who comes in off a win.

Glastonbury's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Manchester. The win continues a trend for the Guardians in their matchups with the Red Hawks: they've now won six in a row.

Glastonbury let Brooke Schlenger and Ryley Handrahan run wild. Schlenger went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Handrahan got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Schlenger has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Windsor's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 12-8 to RHAM.

Aaliyah G made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Kaylee B also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Windsor's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Glastonbury, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Glastonbury skirted past Windsor 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Guardians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
