Mountain Crest was the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Weber on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Morgan Coulam made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sage Walker, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Izzy Laughery, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Mountain Crest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Logan faced Box Elder in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Logan came up short against Box Elder, falling 13-6. The Grizzlies' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Leila Pauni made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Rachel Porter was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Logan now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mountain Crest, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Logan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mountain Crest has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .502. It's a different story for Logan, though, as they've only averaged .302. Will they be able to contain Mountain Crest's hitters?
