Baseball Game Preview: Skyview Wolverines vs. Vista PEAK Prep Bison

Skyview hasn't had much luck against Vista PEAK Prep recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wolverines will take on the Bison at 10:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Skyview had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Thornton on Tuesday. The Wolverines never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory.

The team relied heavily on Carlos Carrillo, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Jorge Ovalle also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Skyview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thornton struck out ten times.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Vista PEAK Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Thomas Jefferson with a sharp 11-5 win on Friday. The Bison haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Skyview's record now sits at 11-7. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their record is now 13-7.

Skyview couldn't quite finish off Vista PEAK Prep in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
