Football Recap: Cardinal Hayes Takes a Loss

Cardinal Hayes extended their losing streak to seven on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 38-14 to the Monsignor Farrell Lions. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Monsignor Farrell, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.2 points over those games.

Monsignor Farrell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce Moye, who threw for 235 yards and two TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Kevin Gumb Jr helped Moye out on the ground, rushing for 120 yards and one score.

Looking ahead, Cardinal Hayes will face off against St. Anthony's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Friars have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. Monsignor Farrell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
