Volleyball Recap: McCurdy Takes a Loss

McCurdy was the 3-0 winner over Mesa Vista when they last played one another back in October, but their luck changed this time around. The Bobcats fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2 on Monday.

Isabella Archuleta paced McCurdy's offense, picking up 20 kills. Archuleta got some help from Kaylee Martinez and her 41 assists. Martinez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

McCurdy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Mesa Vista, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

McCurdy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Escalante on the 5th. As for Mesa Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Penasco on the 4th.
