Volleyball Recap: Hoover's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Hoover was the 2-0 winner over Atascadero when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 1-0 on Saturday.

Hoover was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring nine points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-9.

Ayda Yumusak paced Hoover's offense, picking up three kills. Yumusak got some help from Alejandra Espino and her four assists.

Hoover's defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7. As for Atascadero, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Hoover wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Exeter on the 27th. As for Atascadero, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Nipomo on the 27th.
