Baseball Recap: West Carroll Comes Up Short

West Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Madison Mustangs, falling 19-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 two weeks ago.

Cole McMinn was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

West Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Madison, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Carroll will challenge Halls at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison, they will face off against Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
