Cross skates past Charleston Math & Science with ease

Recap: Cross Trojans vs. Charleston Math & Science Riptide

Make it eight blowout wins for the Cross Trojans this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Charleston Math & Science 72-40 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Cross has posted since December 2, 2023.

Jamez Way was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Way is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Caden Ramsey was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

When it comes to explaining why Charleston Math & Science lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Simmons. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michael Williams, who scored four points along with three steals.

Charleston Math & Science struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cross racked up 14 assists.

Cross is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Charleston Math & Science, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Cross will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Palmetto Scholars Academy at 6:30 p.m. Palmetto Scholars Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Charleston Math & Science won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lowcountry Leadership at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Lowcountry Leadership comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
