Basketball Recap: Darrin Hemphill's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pueblo Central over Pueblo West

Pueblo Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 75-62 to the Pueblo West Cyclones. The game was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

Pueblo Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darrin Hemphill, who posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave Hemphill a new career-high. Tayvon Evans was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Pueblo Central now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pueblo West, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Pueblo Central has already played their next contest, a 64-56 victory against Pueblo South on the 21st. As for Pueblo West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-51 loss against Doherty on the 21st.
