Football Recap: Comfort Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four games, Comfort finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a blow against the Llano Yellowjackets, falling 41-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Bobcats/Deer were not able to get on the board.

Omar Rivera threw for 34 yards on four of 15 attempts. On the ground, Gabriel Gonzalez rushed for 39 yards.

Luke Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Llano, throwing for 262 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 50 yards. The Yellowjackets also got help from Austin Humphries, who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Comfort fell to 4-1. As for Llano, their record is now an identical 4-1.

Coming up, Comfort will challenge Bandera at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The BULLDOGS' defense has only allowed 13.4 points per game this season, so the Bobcats/Deer's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Llano, they will square off against Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Buffaloes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
