Basketball Game Preview: Stanwood Spartans vs. Garfield Bulldogs

The Stanwood Spartans will challenge the Garfield Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Stanwood comes in on five and Garfield on three.

If Stanwood beats Garfield with 54 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Stanwood beat Seattle Prep on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 54-42.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Garfield had no trouble coming through when it counted. They managed a 51-47 victory over White River on Wednesday.

Stanwood pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points on average over those games. As for Garfield, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.

Stanwood came up short against Garfield in their previous meeting back in March of 2018, falling 46-40. Thankfully for Stanwood, Dalayah Daniels (who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
