Luther Prep came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Pius XI Catholic Popes. That's more bragging rights for the Phoenix, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lydia Vasold paced Luther Prep's offense, picking up five kills. Vasold got some help from Lorelei Candler and her ten assists. Allison Schupmann controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

When it comes to explaining why Pius XI Catholic lost, don't look at Zoey Bucio. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs. Bucio is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Luther Prep's win bumped their record up to 26-3. As for Pius XI Catholic, they now have a losing record of 16-17.

Luther Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Shoreland Lutheran on the 11th. As for Pius XI Catholic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Kenosha Christian Life on the 11th.
