Soccer Game Preview: Judson vs. San Marcos

The Judson Rockets are taking a road trip to face off against the San Marcos Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Judson has given up an average of 3.2 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Judson managed to keep up with Steele until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Judson lost 5-0 to Steele. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Marcos). They never let East Central get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. Given the Rattlers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Hornets are ranked 652nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for San Marcos and bumps their season record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two games. As for Judson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Judson might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from San Marcos in their previous meeting back in February. Can Judson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
