Softball Recap: South Harrison's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

If South Harrison was riding high fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Elkins on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks fell 10-6 to the Clay County Panthers on Tuesday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

South Harrison saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Peck, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Emily Squires was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

South Harrison moved to 7-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Clay County, their record is now 4-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat South Harrison by a score of 12-0 later that day.
