Softball Recap: Ridgevue Drops Season-High Score on Borah

Ridgevue extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 24 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-16 in the process. They came up short against the Borah Lions, falling 26-14. On the bright side, the 14- run effort marked the Warhawks' highest-scoring game to date.

Hannah Rogers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Bristol Baron also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

As for Borah, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-16. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.

On Borah's side, Josie Gregory was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Gregory was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last nine matchups.

In other batting news, Borah let Reese Naylor and Anna Hedt run wild. Naylor went 4-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Hedt went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those six RBI gave Naylor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maggie McMullen, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Ridgevue is taking a road trip to face off against Timberline at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Borah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Owyhee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Storm will roll in looking for their 19th straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
