Shepherd is 2-8 against Huntley Project since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mustangs will square off against the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Shepherd took on Colstrip on Friday. The Mustangs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Colts 50-18. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Shepherd found their leader in sophomore Caleb Nicholson, who rushed for 121 yards and two TDs on only seven carries, and also threw for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 94.4% of his passes. Those 121 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Nicholson. Dominyk Weber was in the mix as well, providing Shepherd with two scores.

Shepherd was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colstrip only rushed for 44.

Meanwhile, Huntley Project humbled Baker with a 34-6 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Red Devils just coasted through the last quarter.

Huntley Project's win came from a few key players Shepherd will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Blake Ramaeker, who threw for 283 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also punched in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Kooper Beard was Ramaeker's top target, picking up 92 receiving yards and two scores, while also rushing for 56 yards on only five carries.

Huntley Project didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Victor Lamontagne, Tucker Kaczmarek, and Beard picked up one apiece.

Shepherd's record now sits at 3-5. As for Huntley Project, their record is now an identical 3-5.

Shepherd might still be hurting after the 32-6 loss they got from Huntley Project in their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
