Softball Recap: Santee Takes a Loss

Santee was the 20-3 winner over Dr. Maya Angelou Community when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons came up short against the Phoenix on Friday, falling 12-6.

Julissa Castillo made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Briseida Molina was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Santee's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Santee will face off against Los Angeles at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, they will take on Jefferson at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Democrats will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Phoenix surely won't give up without a fight.
