Basketball Recap: Cylin Tate's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hutto over Round Rock Westwood

If Hutto was riding high fresh off their 89-34 takedown of Manor last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Hutto Hippos and the Round Rock Westwood Warriors didn't end well, with the Hutto Hippos falling 66-49. The Hippos haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Hutto's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cylin Tate, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Tate is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Hilby, who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points.

Hutto's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Round Rock Westwood, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Round Rock the next time they take the court. Hutto will host Round Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Round Rock Westwood will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
