Alex McKee was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of George Garvy, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain View). Everything went their way against Desert Ridge on Thursday as Mountain View made off with an 18-1 win. With that victory, the Toros brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Justice Yanke looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Mountain View got a massive performance out of Beckham Barney, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Mitchell Lamoreaux was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Desert Vista's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Desert Vista took their victory against Mountain View when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1. Will Desert Vista repeat their success, or does Mountain View have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
