Volleyball Recap: Willow Canyon Finds Playoff Glory Versus Youngker

With a playoff win on the line, Willow Canyon rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Youngker Roughriders. The Wildcats were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Roughriders, so the Wildcats were just returning the favor.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-9, 25-17.

Willow Canyon was led to victory by Keely Blady and Emory Scogin. Blady had three digs and three aces, while Scogin had 12 digs and three aces. Blady has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last nine times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Willow Canyon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are a perfect 12-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

When it comes to explaining why Youngker lost, don't look at Isabella Fernandez. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs.

Willow Canyon's win bumped their record up to 23-15. As for Youngker, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

Looking ahead, Willow Canyon will square off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Youngker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
