Volleyball Recap: Rowe Takes a Loss

If Rowe was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 3-0 to the Pioneer Diamondbacks on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Diamondbacks: they've now lost seven in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-9, 25-20.

Rowe's offense was headlined by Katie Barrera and Lynette Palacios, who picked up six kills apiece. They were helped by Leana Palacios and Isabella Munoz, who contributed seven assists each. Finally, Erica Gonzalez kept Rowe's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Rowe's loss dropped their record down to 20-13. As for Pioneer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rowe is set to face off against their familiar foe Vela at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pioneer will square off against rival Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
