Volleyball Game Preview: Sun Valley Spartans vs. Asheboro Blue Comets

The Sun Valley Spartans will face off against the Asheboro Blue Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Sun Valley and Weddington, and Weddington kept the tradition alive. The Spartans fell 3-1 to the Warriors on Tuesday.

While Sun Valley ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Asheboro had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past Ashbrook 3-0 on Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-7, 25-8.

Sun Valley's loss dropped their record down to 19-13. As for Asheboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.
