Softball Recap: New Ulm Cathedral Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

New Ulm Cathedral put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They didn't even let the Springfield Tigers on the board, marking the Greyhounds' second-straight 8-0 shutout. Considering the Greyhounds have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

New Ulm Cathedral pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Springfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

New Ulm Cathedral will venture away from home to face off against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Springfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
