Softball Recap: Poland Seminary Wins Going Away Against Pymatuning Valley

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Poland Seminary walked away with it. They blew past the Pymatuning Valley Lakers 11-5 on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Madison Medvec spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Elliana Thompson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Lilly Madeline was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Poland Seminary kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Poland Seminary now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Pymatuning Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

As of now, neither Poland Seminary nor the Lakers have any future games scheduled.
