Softball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus fell victim to Louisa-Muscatine and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 10-0. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 9-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in July of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Columbus' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Louisa-Muscatine, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-3 loss against Pekin on the 13th. As for Louisa-Muscatine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-5 victory against Hillcrest Academy on the 13th.
